Lisa Bade, APR - President

Lisa Bade, APR, is a seasoned communications professional with over 20 years of experience in public relations and marketing. She currently serves as the President-Elect of the Pikes Peak Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and is affiliated with RSI Entech. Lisa has earned her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), demonstrating her commitment to professional excellence. Throughout her career, she has developed and executed strategic communication plans, media relations, and crisis communications for various organizations. Lisa is passionate about mentoring emerging PR professionals and advancing the public relations industry.

Krista Heinicke - President Elect

Krista's connection to The Broadmoor dates back to 1984, when she trained for ice dancing at the original Broadmoor World Arena. A University of Colorado, Colorado Springs graduate in Communications, she later worked at a PR firm specializing in equestrian and celebrity writing, honing her skills with clients like Morgan Freeman and Jeff Dunham. After a varied career, Krista returned to The Broadmoor, where she now serves as Director of Public Relations. She proudly contributes to key projects, including the Broadmoor Wilderness Experience, Seven Falls, and the reopening of the Cog Railway.

Catherine Creppon, APR - Immediate Past President

Catherine Page-Creppon, MA, APR is the Founder and CEO of Page Public Relations, a full-service agency specializing in strategic marketing and communications for nonprofit organizations. With more than 25 years of experience, she has a proven track record in growing audiences for arts organizations and managing fundraising and marketing for institutions like the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. A proud alumna of Texas Tech University (MA-Mass Communications; BA-Public Relations), she brings expertise in brand strategy, media relations, digital communications, and fundraising, making her a trusted leader in the nonprofit sectors.

Janet Stevens, APR - Treasurer

Janet Stevens, APR, retired as vice president of communications and public outreach from the Space Foundation in 2013. Before joining in 2009, she held senior PR roles at Idearc Media and spent over 30 years in public relations, advertising, and quality management at GTE, Fidelity Investments, and Verizon, working across multiple states. A University of South Florida mass communications graduate, Stevens is accredited by the Public Relations Society of America and serves as treasurer for the Pikes Peak PRSA Chapter. In 2020, she received the chapter's Pinnacle Award for lifetime achievement in public relations. An avid traveler and wildlife photographer, she has visited 40 countries, all seven continents, all 50 U.S. states, and 62 of the 63 national parks.

Natalie Sosa - Director at Large

Natalie is currently serving as the Interim Executive Director of Communications for El Paso County, Colorado. With many years of experience in law enforcement public information and emergency management, she has been a key figure in the county's communication efforts. Previously, Natalie served as the Deputy Public Information Officer, where she managed media relations for the Department of Public Works and the Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management. Beyond her professional commitments, she cherishes her two beloved furry companions at home.

Amy Jo Fields - Director at Large

Amy Jo Fields is the Marketing Communications Manager for El Paso County, Colorado. With a background in western sports entertainment, non-profit support, and brand management, she brings a dynamic range of experience to her role. At El Paso County, Amy Jo proudly promotes the County's programs and services, fostering engagement with the community. She has been a member of the Public Relations Society of America since 2023, showcasing her commitment to advancing her expertise in public relations and marketing.

Kim Melchor - Director at Large

Kim is currently the Community Engagment Coordinator at the Pikes Peak Library District and brings over 25 years of public relations experience in municipal and federal government, as well as media. In her role at Pikes Peak Library District, she fosters partnerships with businesses and community organizations to expand library services and cultivate a welcoming space for all.

Vernon Stewart - Vice President

Vernon has over 15 years of experience in strategic communications, blending government expertise with corporate innovation. Currently the Interim Director of El Paso County Veteran Services, he has led communications campaigns to enhance community engagement, connecting with nearly 760,000 residents, and excels at simplifying complex information into clear strategies. His influence extends into the nonprofit sector as a guiding voice for Policy Vets, shaping discussions on veteran affairs and supporting legislative advocacy. His work has earned him accolades, including the Emerging Business Leader of the Year award and a mayoral proclamation of “Vernon Stewart Day.” Recognized by organizations like 3CMA, NACIO, PRSA, and NAGC for his leadership in award-winning initiatives, Vernon specializes in executive communications, media relations, and brand evolution, creating innovative communication models that set new standards for excellence.
